BVM (USN) Observes World Food Day: To wage a war against global hunger
‘Understanding that prevention of food wastage is the key to food sufficiency’, realization of the impact of food wastage should be taught at a very young & tender age, BVM (USN) observed World Food Day today. A special morning assembly was organised and budding BVMites of class VI presented a spectacular role play emphasising the essentiality of balanced diet. To create an awareness regarding food problems and to wage a war against hunger, malnutrition and poverty, a declamation contest was held for the students of classes VII and VIII wherein they exhibited their oratory skills on various topics - Good Food, Good Life; Wasting Food is like snatching life from the needy; Full Planet, Empty Plates. Young orators shared their views remarkably. Kavish Bajaj (VII) grabbed first prize, Neeharika bagged second position, Aastha (VII) and Jiya (VII) clinched third position in the declamation contest. Healthy Tiffin Competition was another highlight of the day, enthusiastic mothers of little munchkins of class I and II put their earnest efforts to send presentable and healthy tiffins for their wards. Tiffin of Kanan (II) was adjudged as Ist and Saavi’s and Anant’s tiffins were assessed second and third respectively in the healthy tiffin competition on the parameters of nutrients and presentation.
Sensitizing the young minds, Principal Mrs. Bandana Sethi projected on the problems of global food insufficiency and also emphasized on avoiding food wastage.
